We host volunteers under the age of 30 for a year under the European Solidarity Corps volunteer scheme, who learn about regenerative farming and take part in community life.
The European Solidarity Corps is an international volunteer programme funded by the European Commission. It enables young people legally resident in Europe, aged between 18 and 30 years, to volunteer in an organisation or public body for a period ranging from 2 to 12 months. The programme provides reimbursement of travel expenses and complete coverage of the costs of food and accommodation for the international volunteer.
At Cloughjordan Community Farm we host ESC funded volunteers for the full year’s growing cycle, usually starting in March or April (occasionally other volunteering opportunities may come up at other times of the year).
If you want to spend a year growing food, you like to put your hands in the soil, and you are fine with being outdoors rain or shine, this project is for you! If you’re passionate about regenerative farming and want to learn more skills, even better. We welcome self-motivated individuals who are interested in healthy food and local food systems, enjoy working as part of a team and would like more experience of working cooperatively, and are keen to learn practical skills to address the climate and biodiversity crisis while experiencing community life in an Ecovillage.
We encourage land and sea based transport rather than flying, and can offer you guidance and support in this.
We operate the ESC volunteer programme through Léargas, who manage ESC programmes in Ireland.
