We have a growing group which meets weekly on Wednesdays for two hours, where people exchange experience and learning about growing from seed, saving seed, the importance of local, organic food and medicinal plants, have discussions about soil and biodiversity, and the impact and links between food systems and climate change. As well as farm members, we encourage participation from the wider Cloughjordan and North Tipperary community. The group helps to cultivate the gardens in the Cuan Beo area.
We also maintain a seed bank for seed which is grown by growing group members, grown in the Cuan Beo area itself by volunteers, and which can be accessed by growers.
Seed swap
We host an annual seed swap event in the Cuan Beo educational polytunnel in early Spring, with people from the wider community bringing seed to share which they have grown themselves, as well as collecting seed to use.
Seed cleaning
In 2025 we have purchased a seed cleaning machine which we would like to be used, not only by the farm itself, but in the wider midlands region, to support local seed saving. Please contact [email] to discuss collaborations in this area.
