The European Solidarity Corps is an international volunteer programme funded by the European Commission. It enables anyone between 18 and 30 years old, with a passport from a country within the European Union, to volunteer in an applicable organisation or public body. The programme provide a budget to support a volunteer with travel expenses and complete coverage of the costs of food and accommodation for the programme duration.
At Cloughjordan Community Farm we host ESC funded volunteers for the full year’s growing cycle, currently starting in October (occasionally other volunteering opportunities may come up at other times of the year).
If you want to spend a year growing vegetables, like to put your hands in the soil, and you don’t care about getting wet in winter, this project is for you! If you’re passionate about organic farming and want to learn more skills, even better. We welcome self-motivated individuals who are interested in healthy food and local food systems, enjoy working as part of a team and would like more experience of working cooperatively, and are keen to learn practical skills to address the climate and biodiversity crisis while experiencing community life in an Ecovillage.
